DONALD RAY WEST – age 84 of Powell, went home to be with the Lord on December 20, 2016. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. Don was a very giving Godly man who was passionate about helping people, he loved life, he was a chef in the U.S. Army, so he was a great cook for his family. Member of Grace Baptist Church, and he was a retired truck driver. Preceded in death by parents, Ernest, Sr. and Gladys Black West; brothers, Bob, Burl and Avery West. Survived by his wife of 46 years, JoElla West; son, Dennis Todd West and wife Wendy; daughter, Donna Boling; step-son, Greg Hewitt and wife Karen; grandchildren, Chad and Canaan West, Tommy Boling, Alexis and Paige Hewitt; former son-in-law, Eddie Boling, several nieces and nephews. Special thanks to NHC staff, Tennova North and Amedisys Hospice. Visitation will be held in Weaver’s chapel Friday, December 30th, from 5-7 pm with service to follow at 7:00 pm. Rev. Brad Brown officiating. Family and friends will meet Saturday, 9:45 am at Bell’s Campground Cemetery for a 10:00 1m interment.
