Don Richard Widener, age 78, of Knoxville, Tennessee passed away on Saturday, September 2, 2023. Don was a beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend. He loved fishing, music and watching the UT Volunteers. He especially enjoyed watching the Lady Vols and UT football.
Don is preceded in death by wife of 52 years, Marjorie Widener. He is survived by daughters: Melissa (Perry) Gann, Amy Lane; grandson, Dylan Lane
The family will receive friends Wednesday, September 6, 2023 from 5-7pm at McCarty Evergreen Funeral Home, 7426 Asheville Hwy, Knoxville, TN 37924, with a funeral service to follow. Family and friends will meet Thursday, September 7, 2023 at 8:30am at East Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery, Gov. John Sevier Hwy, Knoxville for a Committal Service officiated by Dustin Corum.
