Diana Ray Goodwin Satterfield, 70 departed from this world on May the 29, 2019 at 3:01am at her home in Knoxville, TN. and entered the presence of her beloved Lord and Savior. Born July 15, 1948 in Elkins, W.V. to Wanda and Holly Goodwin. Wanda deceased ten days after giving birth. Diana was adopted by Albert and Ruby Ray when Diana was 18 months old. She attended Southern Bible College in Houston, Texas. While home for summer, she met and married Leonard (Doc) Satterfield. On December 20, 1969 in Fairmont, West Virginia. Diana became an instant mother to Leona, Doc’s daughter whose mother was deceased. Moved to Houston, Texas in 1970 where her first child, Holly was born in 1971. Alberta was born in 1974 then in 1977 Michelle was adopted into our family. Diana was a wonderful full-time mother who home-schooled her children. Moved to Knoxville in 1981 and worked for Doc in the water business after the children were grown. Diana attended and graduated from University of Tennessee in 1997. In 2002 she began teaching at Paideia Academy and retired in 2012 with disability. She is survived by her husband, Leonard (Doc), and her three girls: Holly Campbell, Allie Cook, and Michelle Smallwood. Three Brothers of the Ray family, Eddie Ray, Ronald Ray, and Charles Ray. Her brother John Ray is Deceased. Two sisters of the Goodwin family, Debbie and Darlene and brother Bradley, her grandchildren, Matthew Mahan and Carrie Mahan (and their precious children, mother's great grandchildren, Conner and Molly), Megan Thompson and Aj Thompson, Lara Glenn, Tomi Campbell, Vincent Campbell, Zachary Cook, Jacob Cook, and Nicholas Cook. She was a member and attended Covenant Presbyterian Church in Oak Ridge, TN. Friends may call at Berry Highland West at 9913 Sherrill Lane Knoxville, TN 37932 (865)693-9547. Family will receive friends between 10-12 pm with Funeral and Graveside services following on Saturday, June the 1st of 2019.
