It is with great sadness and love that we offer condolences to the family of David Eugene Vinson as we report his passing in the early morning of Sunday, September 3,2023. He was born in Nashville, Tn on July 16, 1958. Dave graduated from the University of Tennessee with a bachelors, masters, and partial doctorate degree in mathematics. Dave began his career as a math professor at Maryville College before taking his long-standing position at Pellissippi State Community College where he was a beloved instructor for over 23 years. He was active on many committees and special assignments, but his drive persisted most of all in representing the needs of his beloved fellow faculty members with his role on the Faculty Senate. Dave loved his family, music, and movies with a passion and loved discussing them with students, fellow coworkers, friends and family all the time. He was also a 30 year member of Lake Forest Presbyterian Church in South Knoxville. Dave is survived by Carol, his wife of 40 years, his son Andy, his daughter Emma, his daughter in law Baillie, his half-sister Diane Miracle, and his mother, Martha Sue Holley. He was preceded in death by his father Bernard Eugene Vinson, and his half-sister, Donnie Carol. He will be sorely missed and fondly remembered.
A Celebration of Life Receiving of friends and family for David will be held Saturday, September 23, 2023 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM with a Memorial Service at 6:00 PM at Lake Forest Presbyterian Church, 714 Lake Forest Drive, Knoxville, Tennessee.
