My condolences to the Phillips family. DJ was an awesome entertainer and performer. Share a lot of good memories with DJ during my time in Motown. DJ was always a good friend and a good listener and he will truly be missed. 

My first time in Motown, I ended up going to DJ retro revival show in Knoxville. DJ welcome me with open arms, and always been a wonderful friend for 5 years. Going to miss you pal.

Our hearts are saddened but our memories are full. Pete, and I,  remember Dj as a loving, talented, and all-encompassing young man. He embraced life and all his family and friends. He was always there to listen and lend a helping hand. When we first heard him sing, we were shocked that he had kept such a voice hidden for so long. We loved his voice, his smile and his laughter. We will remember him smiling and laughing, and we just know Elvis and Charlie Hodge will add his lovely voice and spirit to their heavenly choir!!

DJ and I met at my old job at Graceland years ago. His personality lit up rooms and he was always the one to go to whenever I had issues or needed life advice. I recently moved to East Tennessee and we started getting to be even better friends. I miss him and will miss laughing with him and talking with him. DJ, please watch over us in Heaven. We all truly love you, my friend.

I’m so sorry to hear about DJ. Of course I have many memories of him at the theater seeing my dad’s show. He was just a few years older than me, and I always remember hanging out with him and laughing. I hope DJ’s loved ones can share sweet times with one another and be comforted during this time.

RIP DJ. My love. I'll always cherish how we grew again, and for what you taught me during your last 30 days. I'm so proud of you, and I know you are of me, too. You'll always be my man. I can't wait to be reunited again in Heaven.

Ms Karen I am so sorry to hear of your loss of your son. Thank miss Pam for calling me and letting me know about the passing of my friend DJ. I will always think of him with kind thougups for all he did to help everybody in the music business.  God bless you and your family through this time of sorrow

I am so shocked to hear, and still cannot believe that Phillips will not be around with his kind, caring, respectful, down-to-earth and eager to help personality.   His was a very familiar face at South College, Parkside Campus, and he will be sorely missed.  

Sending healing prayers and comfort to his family during this tough time. May his family look back on the precious memories and find peace in knowing that Phillips was an amazing person.

DJ what a wonderful guy you are and I know your beautiful spirit is forever with your family and friends  we love and will miss you I miss seeing your smile as you come thru the door, here at work you were more then just a  coworker you were and always will be  my friend.

My heart is with Karen and family. I have so many wonderful memories with DJ. He told me things no one else knew. Someone so special as him comes once in a life time. There was only one Elvis we always would say. Well there will always only be one DJ. A light to all and that light will shine forever. He was my son by another mother I would say. Forever in my heart you will stay.

I had the pleasure of knowing Dj for 14 years and finally meeting in person 2 years ago. He was the best person with the biggest heart. I will miss his sweet voice and infectious personality.  He was loved by any and everyone who knew him. My prayers to Karen and all that knew him.
