Daniel “Danny” J Nash – age 70, of Knoxville, went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Wednesday, February 22, 2023. He was born on March 21, 1952 in Kingsport, Tennessee. Danny graduated from Young High School in 1970. He was an insurance agent and partner with his cousin, Jennifer Jones Asbury at Newton Jones Agency for over 40 years. Danny was a longtime member of Sevier Heights Baptist Church. A man of unwavering faith, he lived for sharing the Good News with most everyone he came in contact with. To Danny, family was so important and he loved spending time with them every chance he got. He was a nature-lover who enjoyed wildlife photography, hiking and birding. He ministered to over 3,000 followers on Instagram (@dannynash52) and his Sunday devotionals were an inspiration to many.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William “Bill” Nash, Sr. and Helen Weaver Nash. He is survived by his devoted wife of 50 years, Candus “Candy” Cox Nash; 3 daughters, Keeley Kirby (Micah), Kassie Anderson (Cory), Kerri Gerken (Aaron); 7 grandchildren, Claire Kirby, Annaleigh Anderson, Macon Vannoy, Camille Kirby, Adia Anderson, Clay Kirby and Case Anderson; brothers, Randy Nash (Anne), Billy Nash (Debbie); mother-in-law, Ruth Cox; brother-in-law, Sammy Cox (Donna); several special nieces, nephews and cousins.
A drop by visitation will be held in the lobby at Sevier Heights Baptist Church (Main Campus) on Monday, February 27th from 4:00pm-6:00pm with a Memorial service to follow in the sanctuary. Pastors Randy Nash and Tim Miller will be officiating. Graveside service will be private.
