Cynthia Ann (Cindy) Stephens Cassell, born September 24, 1961, passed away suddenly on Thursday, December 3, 2015. She was a graduate of South Young High School class of 1979. Cindy was a majorette and member of the South Young Band. She received her diploma as a Dental Assistant and was employed many years in that capacity before becoming an employee of Home Federal Bank and later as a sales representative of WIVK Radio. She was presently employed by Midwest Communications. Cindy was a member of West Park Baptist Church and served as a volunteer for the Humane Society of the Tennessee Valley for several years. She was preceded in death by her former husband, James David Cassell; her father, R.F. Stephens, Jr., paternal grandparents, Mable and R.F. Stephens, Sr.; maternal grandparents, Clyde (Buck) and Inez Lay Beeler. Cindy is survived by her son Jason David and wife Bridgette Cassell; granddaughter, Quinn Avery Cassell; mother and step-father, Joann and O.D. Bridges; siblings: Jim and wife Elizabeth Bridges; Sally and husband Jim Ashworth; Doug and wife, Jo Ann Bridges; uncle, Doug and wife Kathy Beeler; several nieces, nephews, and extended family members as well as many friends. The family would like for Cindy to be remembered as a caring and compassionate person to her family, friends, and for the boundless love and care she gave her Canine friends. Family will receive friends from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM on Tuesday, December 8, 2015 in the chapel of Berry Funeral Home with the funeral service to follow at 7:00 PM, Rev. Sam Polson officiating.
