Boe served his country during the Vietnam war in Naval Intelligence. He graduated from FAU with his bachelor's degree, and earned his master's degree from FIU. Boe started his career as an accountant for the city of Hollywood, FL, moving on to become the Treasurer of Fort Lauderdale where after 23 years he retired. After retiring from Fort Lauderdale, Boe and Shiela moved to Seymour, TN, where he became the Comptroller for the city of Knoxville in 2006 and retired in 2021.
He was an avid lover of his Harley Davidson! He raced motorcycles during his time in Germany and rode his Harley toy all over our beautiful mountains, and the roads of Florida.
Boe fought ALS with more grace and courage than I have ever witnessed! His sweet smile was always on his face, and his blue eyes always shined! He was our hero, our guiding light, and will be missed dearly. He was everyone's best friend.
Preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Virginia Cole.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Shiela Cole; son, Jonathan Cole and daughter-in-law Amy; and grandchildren, Madelyn and Maxwell.
A receiving of friends for Boe will be held Tuesday, May 16, 2023 from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM at Berry Funeral Home, 3704 Chapman Highway, Knoxville, TN 37920.
