Claude Eugene Earl Sr., age 88, of Seymour, Tennessee passed away on Tuesday, January 3, 2023. He was a very devoted husband, father, grandfather, and mentor. Claude was a retired fire captain from the Knoxville Fire Department, after 50 years of service. He served in the United States Navy as a PO3 during the Korean Conflict. Claude was a member of the Kerbela Shrine, the Cherokee Lodge Free Masons, and the Knoxville Scottish Rite. He was a very avid hunter and fisherman; he also enjoyed gardening, scuba diving, playing the piano and organ, and performing with his band, Martin Melodymakers.
He is preceded in death by his loving wife of 65 years, Lorene Earl; parents, Tony and Beatrice Earl; grandson, Anthoney Noe; brother, TH Earl, Jr; and sister, Juanita Earl.
Claude leaves behind his children, Claude Eugene Earl, II (Joe), Howell Bartley Earl, Melodie Noe; grandchildren, Sasha Danielle, Tiffany Nicole (Nick), Joselyn Rose, and grandson-in-law, George Morse; great-grandchildren, Marley Lynn Meadows, Herschel Eugene Mynatt; as well as many close friends and neighbors.
Family will receive friends from 5:00 - 7:00 Sunday, January 8, 2023 at Berry Funeral Home, 3704 Chapman Highway, with a funeral service to follow at 7:00 PM. Family and friends will meet at Woodlawn Cemetery at 1:45 PM for a 2:00 PM interment Monday, January 9, 2023.
