It is with deep sadness that we mourn the loss of our beloved Claire Ann Patti, although it is with great joy that we announce she has gone home to be with the Lord and live eternally at peace on Tuesday, December 6th, 2022. She passed quietly in her sleep at the age of 84.
She is succeeded by her loving husband, Salvatore Patti Jr., her son Marc Patti and his wife Christie; her daughter, Stephanie Wuschner and her husband John; her four grandchildren, Marc Anderson and his wife Becky, Alyson Schaffer and her husband Tim, Christopher Patti and Emily Patti; her five great grandchildren Salvatore, Lily, Graciela, Leila and Elias; her brother Dennis Woodworth and his wife Jeannette; her sister Donna Crean and her husband Martin; and her youngest brother Peter Woodworth.
Claire was born in July of 1938 in Springfield, Massachusetts to Raymond and Bernice (Dzirkall) Woodworth.
She attended East Hartford High School shortly before moving to New York City to pursue a career in dance. Throughout her 20’s she danced and worked a variety of jobs until she met the love of her life, Salvatore Patti. They were united in marriage on Feb 22nd, 1963 and lived 59 wonderful years together. Although, she gave up her passion for dance to raise a family, she was blessed with two children which she took great pride in and loved dearly.
Claire’s greatest joy was the rearing of her family. She delighted in cooking elaborate meals and keeping the household, as well as spending many hours intently listening to her children and nurturing them into adulthood. Her warm, kind spirit, and calm words of wisdom created a peaceful atmosphere for the family. In 1993, Salvatore and Claire decided to move to Destin, FL where they spent many peaceful years living near the water. In 1969, Claire and Salvatore came to a faith in Christ. This became the cornerstone of who Claire was as a person. Although her life was not painless in flesh, her spirit was constantly renewed by her faith in Jesus Christ. She cherished her quiet moments of Bible study and loved finding new revelations that gave her hope in her more challenging moments. Although we know we will see her again, she will surely be missed.
The family will receive friends for fellowship from 1:00 to 2:30 PM(EST) on Tuesday, December 13, 2022, at Berry Highland Memorial, 5315 Kingston Pike in Knoxville, Tennessee. A memorial service to honor Claire’s life will follow at 2:30 PM(EST). The service will also be live streamed on the Berry Highland Memorial Facebook page.
