Charles “Jason” White of Knoxville, Tennessee, passed away at the young age of 41 on May 4, 2024, due to complications from a brief illness related to a congenital heart condition, which never stopped him from living life to its fullest.
Jason was born October 17, 1982 in Springfield, Missouri. His family traveled with the military before settling in East Tennessee in 1988. Jason attended school in Kingston and graduated in 2001 from Roane County High School. He met the love of his life, Lauren, in 2004 and married in 2008.
Jason centered his life around his wife and children. He loved all things sports, particularly when it came to the Tennessee Volunteers. Jason loved the water, both lake and ocean. He loved the summer sun and an East Tennessee fall. He loved music and a dance floor. If an opportunity presented itself to make his children laugh, he took it. His laugh was uniquely his own and recognizable in a room full of people. Jason was a pipefitter by trade and well loved by his co-workers. Perhaps Jason’s true calling was serving, as a coach, for various youth sports within the Hardin Valley community. His favorite pastime was obnoxiously cheering on his children from the sidelines. Jason was a devoted father, husband, son, big brother, uncle, coach, and friend who leaves behind cherished memories to those who had the pleasure of knowing him.
Jason is survived by his wife of nearly 16 years, Lauren Riggs White, and two beautiful children, Charlie and Caroline White, ages 11 and 6. He is also survived by his parents, Scott and Karen White; sister, Ashley (Josh) Wade; paternal grandparents, Charles and Danni White; maternal grandmother, Mary Nederveld, and a large extended family of aunts and uncles, cousins, nephews and in-laws, including Greg and Martha Riggs, Ashley (Jon) Rogers, and Clint (Kristin) Riggs.
Our hope is that his legacy will live on through the countless lives he touched and smiles he created. Jason will be remembered by his family as compassionate, dependable, and hard working. While we mourn the loss of Jason, we choose to celebrate the beautiful moments he shared with us. Therefore, a Celebration of Life will be held in Jason’s honor on Sunday, May 19, 2024, at Berry Highland Memorial, at 5315 Kingston Pike, Knoxville, TN 37919. Visitation will begin at 1:00 pm followed by a service at 3:00 pm.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The White Family Fund c/o Lauren White at any Regions Bank location. Condolences may be sent to PO Box #23694, Knoxville, TN 37933.
