Charles Russell Merriman

Charles Russell Merriman, age 71, of Knoxville, Tennessee passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday, June 27, 2021. Charlie was a proud father, pop and a great grandfather. He was a dedicated friend to many. Charlie enjoyed golf, fishing and UT sports. Charlie was a 1968 graduate of Bearden High School and also a proud Navy Veteran.

Charlie is preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Helen Merriman.

He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Teresa (Terrie) Merriman; daughter, Melanie Braden (Tony), grandchildren, Justin Bryant (Megan), Faith Bryant, Sydney, Eli and Rylee Braden; daughter Stephanie Mullins (Mike), grandchildren, Joshua, Stacie and Jeffrey Hubbs, Mikey and Tyler Mullins. Great grand children, Adalynn, Renlee and Landon Bryant.

Charlie had a precious group of cousins he loved very much, and a number of high school friends that stayed in touch all these years after high school.

At this time, we would like to thank our beautiful family and friends for all the prayers, cards, phone calls and social media out reach during this difficult time. We would like to thank Caris Hospice for their care as well.

A Gathering of family and friends will be held at Clinch River Baptist Church, 407 Cane Creek Road, Rocky Top, Tennessee 37769 on Thursday, July 15th at 6pm with a Celebration of Life to follow at 7pm
