On July 15, 2014 Carole Amanda Anderson Amburn, age 79, passed away at her home after a short illness. Although she was born in Georgia, she made her home in Knoxville in 1969, after she and her husband retired from the military. Mrs. Amburn served in the USNR during the Viet Nam War, retired from the State of Tennessee with 30 years of service, and was a member of the Wallace Memorial Baptist Church. She is preceded in death by: her beloved husband, Bobby G. Amburn; her parents, Roy C. and Nellie M. Anderson; and a sister, Shirley Ann Boughter. She is survived by: sisters, Ms. June Fletcher of Georgia, and Ms. Gale Blackwell of Alabama; was “Aunt Sissy” to 22 Nieces and Nephews; special friends, Jeanie and Ron Kors, Rick Spencer, Steve and Tonya Jinks, and Janice Key. A memorial service will be held Saturday, July 26th, at 11:00a.m. in the chapel of Highland South Funeral Home with Pastor Russell Fletcher officiating.
