Carol Sue Varner, age 81, of Powell, Tennessee gained her angel wings on Friday, October 21, 2022. She was of the Baptist faith. Carol was co-owner of the Hot Rod Barn and previous co-owner of the Knoxville Dragway. She enjoyed taking care of her animals which included her birds, dog and cats, gardening but most of all she loved spending time with her grandchildren and family.
She was preceded in death by husband, Charles L. Varner; father, Robert Lee Pierce; mother, Kathleen Jones; sister, Sarah Blalock; step daughter, Jane Logan; nephew, Jeff Allen; niece, Kelly Blalock. Carol is survived by children, Rick (Page) Varner and Angela (Daryl) Petersen; grandchildren, Angela (Rusty) Williams and Sarah Varner; great grandchildren, Presley Ann and Katie Sue; step grandchildren, Robbie, Matthew and Charles Logan; sister-in-law, Brenda Self; nieces and nephews, Greg Allen, Tommy (Kristi) Blalock and Susan (Mark) Bailey, Diana Jones and Teresa Nichols.
Family will receive friends Friday, October 28th from 5-7pm at Berry Lynnhurst Funeral Home with funeral service following at 7pm. Burial will take place Saturday, October 29th at 1pm at Lynnhurst Cemetery, meeting at the graveside at 12:45pm. The family would like to thank the staff of Morning Pointe of Powell and UT Hospice for taking such good care of our beloved Granny.
