Carl Shaver, age 69 of Newport, passed away January 19, 2019. He graduated from Cocke County High School and received an Associate Degree in Science from E.T.S.U. He was a veteran serving two years in the U.S. Army. Preceded in death by his parents, Mack and Mary Edith Shaver. Survived by wife, Brenda Shaver and brother, Darrell Shaver (Sarah). Visitation will be held Monday at McCarty-Evergreen Funeral Home, 7426 Asheville Hwy., Knoxville, TN 37924 from 5:00-7:00 pm with service to follow. Family and friends will meet Tuesday at Jefferson Memorial Gardens at 10:45 am for an 11:00 am entombment.
