Bonnie Catherine Martin

Martin, Bonnie C., age 93, of Knoxville, passed away July 22, 2011 at UT Hospital. Bonnie was born on October 5, 1917. She was a member of Hillcrest United Methodist Church and a former member of St. Luke’s United Methodist Church and Dandridge Avenue United Methodist Church. She was a caring wife and mother who enjoyed bowling, bingo, baking, and her family and friends. She worked as an usherette at the Knoxville Civic Coliseum and Auditorium. Bonnie was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Hubert A. (Pepper) Martin; parents, Laura and Wilson Hall; step-mother, Ruth Hall; sisters: Lucy, Foy, Martha, June, Audrey, Lela, Helen, and Addie; brothers, Everett, Austin, Wilson (Doog), Walter, William Snow, and Aaron. Bonnie is survived by sons, Donald; Ronnie and wife Vickie; daughter, Judy; grandchildren and spouses: Heather and John Pennington; Dustin and April Martin; and Tracy Martin; great-grandchildren: Luke and Lily Pennington; Jeremy Martin; and twins, Launa and Wyatt Martin. The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to Mary Underwood, her special friend and caregiver. They also wish to thank Dr. David Stockton and Dr. Myrwood Besozzi for their care. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hillcrest United Methodist Church, 1615 Price Avenue, Knoxville, TN 37920. Family and friends will meet at Woodlawn Cemetery at 11:00 AM Wednesday at Woodlawn Cemetery for graveside services, Rev. Richard Richter officiating.
