Bobby Neal Campbell

Bobby Neal Campbell, age 72, passed away on Saturday, November 18, 2017, after an extended illness. Mr. Campbell, born October 31, 1945 in Pulaski, Tennessee, was a teacher and baseball coach at Doyle High School and groundskeeper with the Knoxville Blue Jays before becoming Turf Grass Manager over all athletic fields at the University of Tennessee in 1990. He was a Lifetime Member of the Pride of the Southland Band, UT Letterman Club member, President of the Sports Turf Managers Association, and turf grass guru who enjoyed playing a good round of golf. More than anything, he was a wonderful husband, dad, Poppa, and friend who will forever be missed. Mr. Campbell is survived by his wife of 50 years, Toni; two children, Peter and Tracy, and their spouses; two grandchildren, Jack and James; and brother, Ralph. He is preceded in death by his parents, Chester and Jean Campbell. A visitation of friends will be held on Tuesday, November 21 from 5:00pm - 7:00pm at Colonial Heights United Methodist Church, 6321 Chapman Hwy Knoxville, with a celebration of life to follow.
