Bill Andrew Bedwell

Bill was born on August 20th, 1937 in Knoxville, TN to Andrew and Essie Bedwell. He grew up in the Lonsdale community and graduated from Rule High School in 1956 where he was an outstanding baseball player. He then married his high school sweetheart Charlotte Ann Rader in 1959. He retired from KUB after 45 years of service.

He loved to spend time with his family and take vacations to Daytona Beach. He took the most pride in watching his grandchildren grow up and play sports.

He attended Inskip Baptist Church but was a member of Lonsdale Methodist Church.

Bill is survived by his wife of 59 years, Charlotte Rader Bedwell, Sister, Joyce Grubb, and Brother Gene Bedwell. He is also survived by his two daughters and husbands Cyndi Bedwell Newton (Allen); Cathy Bedwell Amick (Mark); 4 grandchildren; Andrew Newton, Nicole Amick Anderson, Anna Newton, and Cory Amick and several other nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Andrew and Essie Bedwell and Brother Robert “Hub” Bedwell.

The Family will receive friends from 5-7pm on Friday April 27th at Berry Lynnhurst Funeral Home, 2300 Adair Drive. This will be followed by a Celebration of Bill’s life at 7pm. Burial will be on Saturday April 28th at 11:00am at Highland Memorial Cemetery.
