Betty Jean McDaris

Betty Jean McDaris, age 92, of Seymour, Tennessee, formerly of Chattanooga, TN, passed away on Wednesday, January 4, 2023. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Betty was a longtime member of First Baptist of Seymour. For many years she was a volunteer at Baptist Hospital. Betty had many hobbies including: tending to her plants, cooking, sewing, crafts, RV camping and traveling. She loved family gatherings, picnics and hikes at Metcalf Bottoms in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park and UT football and basketball.

She is preceded in death by her husband Robert "Bob" W. McDaris; daughter Patti Lynn Holman and parents Archie and Rowena Hinkle .

Betty is survived by her children Joy Walker, Cathy (Jerry) Atchley and Rob (Sudie) McDaris and Doug Holman; grandchildren Ryan (Kandi) Walker, Lori (Jeremy) Maupin, Matt (Kasi) Walker, Jennifer Atchley, Erin (Joel) Fischer and David McDaris; and great-grandchildren Ayden Maupin, Keira Walker, Drew Maupin, Piper Walker, Emory Walker, Mason Walker and Shepherd Fischer.

In lieu of flowers the family asks for donations to be made to First Baptist Church of Seymour in Betty's name.

Private family services will be held at a later date.
