Drummer, Bessie M. Wright – age 97 passed away at home on October 24, 2010, after a long illness. She was married to the late Kenneth F. Drummer for 73 years and was a member of St. Paul Methodist Church since her marriage. She was born in Knox County and lived there all her life. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lon and Cordelia Wright; three brothers: Herb (Irene) Wright, Arthur (Marie) Wright and Charles A. Wright, Jr.; and two sisters, Ollie (Wheeler) Moulton and Pearl (Clinton) Pickle. Survivors include two sons, James F. Drummer and wife Grace Burnett and Richard Wheeler Drummer and wife Jeanette Jones, both of Lexington, KY; and grandchildren: James Harrison; Sherre Drummer Sparks and husband Harry, both of Lexington; Scott Drummer of Lawrenceburg, KY; Mark A. Drummer and wife Dia; Candace Drummer Swain and husband Rick, all of Orlando, FL; Patrise Drummer Couch and husband Andy of Woodbridge, VA; Kimberly Drummer Kindred and husband Sam of Lancaster, KY; Richard Drummer, Jr. and wife Marsha of Lexington, KY; and Kenneth Lee Drummer and wife Sue of Lakeland, FL. Also surviving are 24 great grandchildren and 17 great great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, and brother-in-law, Foy Drummer. She was blessed to have many loving caregivers over the past several years, all led by Carol Caughorn of Knoxville, a wonderful lady and good Christian friend. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, October 27th from 5-7pm at McCarty-Evergreen Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow at 7pm.
