Bernice first and foremost loved her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She also found joy in working with children, serving in women's ministry and expressing her creativity. Her hands were always busy creating something wonderful. She was an accomplished seamstress (even an award-winning wedding dress), quilter and crafter. Her quilting designs are loved by her family to this day. She also knew how to relax and experience new things while camping and traveling. She loved her family dearly and was always one to enjoy some good humor (even if sometimes it was at her expense.)
Bernice is preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Annie Ryals and her brother William Ryals.
She is survived by her devoted husband of 62 years, Lloyd Riske, Jr. Her two daughters Deborah (Daniel) Horner and Diane (Steven) Lopez; six grandchildren Derek Horner, Devin Horner, Darion (Karina) Horner, Desirae (Bryan) Scheideman, Deandra Horner and Carson Lopez; three great grandchildren Bentley Horner, Ryles Horner and Roan Horner; and several nieces and nephews.
The family welcomes friends to a committal service on Friday, January 26, 2024, at Berry Highland South Funeral Home at 1 pm.
