Johnson, Barbara Jane Mitchell, age 68, of Knoxville, surrounded by her family entered peacefully into the open arms of her Lord on Monday, May 19, 2014. She was born in Knoxville on September 25, 1945, and was a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She was an active member of Christ United Methodist Church and of the United Methodist Women, both at church and district levels. Preceded in death by parents, Sherman and Cleo (Lewis) Mitchell. Survived by husband, Fred Johnson; brother and sister-in-law, Sherman and Patsy Mitchell; daughter and son-in-law, Dorisha (Cox) and Victor Chargualaf; daughter, Valerie (Cox) Fontan; grandchildren, Christina and Mark Chargualaf, Adrienne, Kailey, and Jonathan Fontan; and a host of nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends Wednesday, May 21, from 6pm – 8pm at Lynnhurst-Greenwood Chapel. The funeral service will follow with Rev. Charla Sherbakoff and Dr. Bruce Marsten officiating. Graveside services will be held on Thursday, May 22, at 10 am at Lynnhurst Cemetery. Pallbearers; John Mitchell, James Mitchell, Justin Mitchell, Victor Chargualaf, Eric Fontan, and Joe Prueitt; honorary pallbearers, members of the Revealers Sunday School Class.
