Avery Leon Clark III “Butch”, age 59, passed away Sunday night Feb 4th, 2018 in the comfort of the home he loved so dearly. He often described it as the house the Clampetts moved out of. He was a damn fine figure of a man. The toughest, most intelligent, creative, compassionate, loving, caring, hardworking, stubborn and capable man ever known. There was never a problem he couldn't solve, a situation he couldn't deal with or a book he hadn't read. He was the sweetest daddy, the best “Super Duper” and the most adoring husband. He is survived by his parents Avery Jr. and Suzanne Clark. His siblings Cindy, Steve, Ray, Joe, and Stacy who were never defeated in any school bus fight. His wife, best friend, and center of his universe, P.Jaye; who fell in love with his beautiful blue eyes 40 years ago. His most prized accomplishments, his beautiful and tough children and grandchildren; Annie, John and Adeline, Cari, Avery “Gus” IV, Julie and Nico, and Bonnie Bliss. He also leaves behind a whole mess of treasured nieces and nephews and too many kinfolk and friends to count. He left a hole in all of our hearts but the strength to keep going. He wouldn't want us to hurt or have regrets but just to be happy and take care of each other. “Act like somebody” and always remember Uncle Butch loves you. Receiving of friends will be held Monday, Feb. 19 from 4-6pm at Beulah United Methodist Church 907 Kimberlin Heights Rd. in Knoxville with a service to follow. All are welcome. In lieu of flowers, follow the advice of Uncle Butch and “be kind and helpful to one another”. Donations can be made to Beulah United Methodist Church. Condolences may be offered at www.mccartyevergreen.com.
