Anna Lee Hiers

Anna Lee Tucker Hiers, age 89, of South Knoxville, went to be with the Lord Saturday, June 23, 2018. She was a member of New Hopewell Baptist Church. Anne graduated from Young High School in 1948. During high school she worked at S&W Cafeteria. Following high school she moved to Gainesville, Florida where she worked for a department store and Ford dealership. After marriage she moved to Newberry, Florida where she and her husband owned and operated a hardware store, floral business, and later a telephone answering service. She returned to Knoxville after the death of her husband. Her passions were growing and arranging flowers, and needlework. Anne was preceded in death by her husband, Harry Hiers; father, Herschel Tucker; mother Leola Harmon West; and sister Audrey Faye Sayne. She is survived by her sister, Doris Julian; brother Clyde Tucker of Cookeville, TN; special cousin, Elvin Moore (Joanne); several nieces and nephews; and close friend Nelle Robinson of Newberry, Florida. Family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM Thursday, June 28, 2018 at New Hopewell Baptist Church with funeral services to follow at 2:00 PM Rev. Carroll Golden officiating.
