Ann Wheeling, age 86, of Knoxville, Tennessee passed away on Thursday, March 9, 2023 at Island Home Health and Rehab. Ann was born June 9, 1936 in Clairfield, Tennessee and graduated from Jacksboro High School. She was a longtime member of South Knoxville Baptist Church and a member of the Kiwanis Club.
She retired with 33 years of service from Hillcrest Nursing Home as an administrator; being the second female administrator in the State of Tennessee at the time of her tenure. Ann dedicated her life to her patients as well as her family.
Preceded in death by her husband, Douglas Stuart Wheeling; parents, Pascal and Edith McFarland and several siblings.
She is survived by daughter, Anna Susan Dykes; son, Douglas Wheeling, II; grandchildren, Jason (Ashley) Dykes, Joshua (Jessie) Dykes, Bethany Redwine; great grandchildren, Aryanna, Caden, Abryanna and Kassidy; sister, Norma Shorter.
The family will receive friends from 5-7 pm Monday, March 13, 2023 at Berry Funeral Home. A private graveside service will be held at Tennessee Veterans Cemetery-Lyons View Pike at a later date.
