A.C Myers, 93, a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather, passed on to be with the lord Sunday night a Parkwest hospital in Knoxville, with his daughter and son-in-law by his side. Born in Maynardville, Tenn., on June 12, 1923, A.C. was one of nine children from parents Aaron Myers and Classie Cox. He earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Tennessee before joining the U.S. Army to serve in France during World War 2 and later in the Korean conflict as a 1st lieutenant. A.C. then returned to Knoxville, where he earned a law degree from U.T., paving the way for a well-respected, 40 year career with State Farm Insurance Company. Growing up in hard times, A.C. was motivated to work hard to successfully achieve a comfortable life for himself, his wife and daughter with dedication to primary responsibilities and his successful businesses. As the family grew, he continued to love and support grandchildren with constant involvement in their lives, actively listening, humbly offering advice for which they will be forever grateful and never forget his influence. Beyond family, he was a friend to everyone he met, showing kindness, generosity and respect and forever providing help to those in need without ever asking for anything in return. A.C. was a wonderful man who we will greatly miss but take consolation in knowing he has an everlasting home in Heaven. A.C. is preceded in death by his wife, Mickey married 60 years, sisters Pearl Rickard: Loretta Johnson; Minnie Rose Baldwin; Lenore Greenway; and brothers Charles Myers; Roy Myers; Earl Myers; and Clyde Myers. He is survived by daughter Patricia Myers Wilson; son-in-law Stephen Wilson; grandchildren Melissa Wilson and Brandon Wilson, and great granddaughter Isla Rose Wilson. Funeral Services will be held Thursday November 10th at Berry Highland Memorial, Bearden, Reverend Mark Moreland officiating. Family will receive friends from 4pm to 6pm followed by the service at 6pm. He will be laid to rest Friday November the 11th alongside his wife at Pleasant View Cemetery in Maynardville at 11 am
