It is with profound sadness, we announce the passing of Sheila Mary Tully (née Simons) peacefully at University Gates, Waterloo surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday, June 5, 2024 at the age of 88.
Married 65 years to her devoted husband, Philip Tully, she will be deeply missed by her children Kerri and Shaun (Sharon). Cherished grandmother of Spencer.
She was predeceased by her parents, William and Katherine Simons, brother Keith and sister Patricia.
Sheila was raised in Coventry, England where she studied to become a pharmacist's assistant. She also worked on ship to shore rockets which led to her being hired by AV Roe to work on the Avro Arrow in Toronto. She came to Canada in 1956 where she met Phil. They married in 1958 and eventually moved to Nobleton and later to Kitchener where they have lived for the past 56 years.
Sheila and Phil enjoyed travelling and spent many holidays aboard cruise ships, seeing the world together. She loved to spend time in the sun, playing card games, square dancing and enjoying the company of her friends.
Sheila made an impact on many lives. She will be forever missed.
Cremation has taken place. Sheila's family will receive relatives and friends at Westmount Memorial Celebration Centre, 1001 Ottawa St. S., Kitchener, (519-743-8900), on Tuesday, June 11, 2024 from 9:30 - 10:30 a.m., where the memorial service will be held in the chapel at 10:30 a.m. A reception will follow.
