Rene Victor Belanger

Rene is survived by his wife Nancy, and his children Stephen (Edna), Kimberly, Richard (Mia) and Michael (Karen). Much loved poppa of Kyran, Rachelle, Rowan, Caleigh & Liam. Rene will be missed by his brother Paul, sisters Leona & Anita, and by his many cousins and extended family members.

Rene owned and operated Car 51 with City Cab for many years. He was a member of the Brant Flying Club, and enjoyed the time he spent out on the flying field. Rene always had a soft spot for family pets and felt a home was never complete without one. His dogs were his faithful companions until the end.

Rene’s family extends heart-felt gratitude to CCAC, their compassionate nurses, Dr. Keleher, Dr. Langridge, and staff at the Kitchener Cancer Centre. Rene’s last days were spent at Lisaard House. The excellent care and family support provided by Dr. Casey and staff was a great comfort during a difficult time.

A celebration of Rene’s life will be held at the Ratz Bechtel Family Centre, 621 King St. W, Kitchener on Saturday, March 31, 2012, from 1-4 pm. Cremation has taken place.

As an expression of sympathy, and in lieu of flowers, donations can be made through the funeral home to Lisaard House, or the Kitchener-Waterloo Humane Society.
