Unexpectedly, Maurice passed away surrounded by his family on Saturday, February 23,2019 at the age of 82.
Predeceased by his soul mate Marjorie (1997), dearly loved father to the late Paul Dowdall (1992), Darlene Vandenberg (Martin) and Terry Dowdall (Colleen). Gramps leaves cherished memories with his grandchildren Briana, Mitchel, Tara, Lexi, Sarah, and his great grandchildren Rosa and Theo. Loving brother to the late Pat Dowdall (Melva), Vernon Dowdall (Marlene), Audrey Budden (Len), Aileen Creaser (John), Bernice Green and Brian Dowdall (Nancy). Maurice lived a full life of golf, country music and a positive attitude. He will be missed by his Friday afternoon pool buddies, golf partners, and his "family" at the Commercial Tavern. Family and friends will be received at St. Francis of Assisi Parish, 49 Blueridge Ave., on Thursday from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 1:00 p.m., followed by a Celebration of Maurice's Life at the Commercial Tavern, Maryhill. As expressions of sympathy memorial donations to the Canadian Cancer Society are greatly appreciated.
