Mary Magdalena Achtenberg

Beloved wife of the late Gerald Achtenberg of 37 years. Dear mother of Vikki Liegis. Loved grandmother of Michael Liegis & Courtney Fetter and great grandmother of Lilija and Kobe Liegis-Ricardo, Camile and Christian Roach, Dane Slaunwhite, and Mya Schedewitz. Predeceased by her parents Martha (nee: Jagelewski) & Frank, her sisters Theresa Hause & Patricia Doff & her grandchildren Jeremy Liegis & Bree-Anne Liegis. After working in the private sector, Mary joined the Federal Employment & Immigration Department. This included Refugee Settlement Counsellor. Mary was also known for being involved with completing the very first PSAC contract in 1968, in Ottawa where she signed. Cremation has taken place. Mary’s family will receive relatives and friends for a Memorial Mass at St. Louis RC Church, 53 Allen St. E., Waterloo, on Friday June 8, 2018 at 11:00 am. Interment at Parkview Cemetery.
