Simon: Madeline A., - A woman of great strength who faced life with passion and grace, and in the end faced death fearlessly. Madeline passed away at St. Mary’s Hospital on Tuesday, April 16th, 2013 with family by her side.
The former Madeline Anne Harber aged 85 years was the loving wife to Rudy for 61 years, dear mother to James and his wife Diane of Chatham, Catherine and her husband Michael Burke of Port Elgin, Stephen and his wife Marla of Thornbury, beloved grandma to Ryan and his wife Katie, Jason and his wife Melinda, Ashleigh and her husband Ryan Millar, Elliott, Hayden, Laurel and Michael and great grandmother to Madeline and Emma, sister to Marion Deckert (the late Stan) of Linwood. Memories of Madeline will be cherished by her cousin and dear friend Arleen Shouldice (Dan)
Predeceased by her parents James Harber and Laurina Scott, her sisters Patricia Eckenswiller (Burt) and Joan Sherrer (Bill) and daughter-in-law, Catherine.
Madeline was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Church, the C.W.L of the Church and the Carmel Guild of St. Joseph. A devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, Madeline enjoyed spending time with family, especially during the summer at their cottage on Wymbolwood Beach.
Friends may call at the Ratz-Bechtel Funeral Home 621 King St. W., Kitchener on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9, where the parish prayers will be recited at 8:45 pm.
A funeral mass will be held on Saturday at 11:00 am from Our Lady of Lourdes Church with Monsignor Edward Sheridan officiating. Interment will be in Parkview Cemetery.
