Peacefully, on October 11, 2010, at Westmount Long Term Care Centre, Lorne went home to be with his Lord. He is lovingly remembered by his wife Elvera (Herz) of 65 years. Dear brother of Orville (Magdalena) Einwechter, brother-in-law of Gertie and loving uncle of Jim and Marilyn Einwechter, Barb (Bob) Hallman and several other nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his daughter Loralee (1997) and brothers Eldon, Emerson, Earl, Harvey and his twin Clare.
Lorne was a long time member of St. James Lutheran Church, New Dundee. He spent his working years with Kitchener News as a distributor and he loved his gardens.
Visitation for family and friends will be at the Westmount Funeral Chapel, 1001 Ottawa St. S, Kitchener, 519-743-8900 on Thursday, October 14 from 7 – 9 p.m. and the funeral service will be from the Westmount Funeral Chapel on Friday, October 15 at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Bonnie Shelter-Brown officiating. A private family interment will take place at Memory Gardens.
Memorial donations may be made to St. James Lutheran Church, New Dundee or the Canadian Diabetes Association.
