Lena Schmitt

Passed away at Forest Heights Long Term Care on Monday, July 14, 2014, at the age of 98 years. Beloved wife of the late Harold Schmitt (1995). Dear mother of Gerald (Faye), Carol Barton (Dennis), Doreen Hill, George, Maynard (Larke), Martha Woods (Tom), Robert (Allison), and Nancy Brown (Jim). Loved grandmother of 10 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, and 5 great great grandchildren. Dear sister of Almeda Schiedel and sister-in-law of Delores Martin and Ina Schmitt. Predeceased by 2 daughters-in-law: Ruth Schmitt and Eunice Schmitt, son-in-law Bob Gurton, and 2 great grandsons: Joshua Minke and Jeno Bujtas. Also predeceased by her other siblings and siblings-in-law. Friends will be received at Schreiter-Sandrock Funeral Home, 51 Benton St., Kitchener, (519-742-4481), on Thursday, July 17, 2014 from 12:00 – 12:45 pm, where the funeral service will be held in the chapel at 1:00 pm, with Pastor Vernon Trafford officiating. Interment in Mannheim Mennonite Cemetery. If desired, donations to Alzheimer Society would be appreciated.
