Julie Theresa Barlow

Passed away peacefully at Grand River Hospital on Tuesday, September 22, 2015 in her 90th year.

Born to parents Rose and Anthony Pettalia in Sault Ste. Marie on January 31, 1926 to a warm and loving family.

Predeceased by her first husband Peter Edward Battista (1972) and second husband David Barlow (2000). Mother of Peter Battista and stepmother of Diane Barlow (the late David Makarowski). Loving grandmother of Nicole and husband Wilber.

Julie enjoyed cooking for family and friends as was passed down from her Mother and shared by many. She has left us with memories which we will cherish, honour and emulate.

Preceded in death by sisters Rose Dynie, Carmel Porter and Mary Figliomeni and brothers Sosto, Sam, Frank and Joseph. Survived by sisters Ann Bednarz and brother Peter Pettalia, both residents of Sault Ste. Marie.

Visitation will take place at the Ratz-Bechtel Funeral Home, 621 King Street W, Kitchener on Saturday, September 26 from 11-12 with a service in the chapel at 12 noon. Reception to follow in the Ratz Bechtel Family Centre. Memorial Donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
