GEORGE, John James – Passed away peacefully at the Village of Winston Park on Wednesday, August 31st, 2011 at the age of 82 years. John is predeceased by his wife, Jean Lorraine George (nee Vogt). Father of John George and his wife Judy of Stratford, ON. Brother of Marjorie Karn (the late Del), Jerome George (the late Eileen), the late George James George (Joyce), Eugene George (Patricia), Michele George (Margaret), Nancy Knapp (Garland), Barbara Nosal (Ronald), Lucy Laba (Larry), Jean Balahura (Bob), David George (Beverly), Linda Lehman (Paul). John is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

John was a truck driver for over 50 years and a member of the Teamsters. In his younger days, John served in the Merchant Marines and was a former member of the KW Naval Association.

John’s family will receive friends on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9pm at the Ratz-Bechtel Funeral Home, 621 King St. West, Kitchener, ON. A funeral service celebrating his life will take place on Saturday morning at 11 o’clock at the funeral home. Interment Woodland Cemetery. A reception will follow at the Ratz-Bechtel Family Centre. For those who wish, memorial donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
