Florence Joanne Allan (née Strong) of Kitchener, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 22nd, 2024, after a brief stay at St. Mary’s Hospital. Born in Listowel on June 13th, 1945, and from Howick Township, Huron County.
Beloved wife of Robert ‘Bob’ Allan for 51 years, and affectionate mother of James (Heidi) of West Kelowna and Mark (Catherine) of Milton. Loving grandmother of Desirée (Ty), Kyla, Brianna, Jonathan, Audrey, Eve, and Amelia. Also loved by her brother Alex Strong (Gwen) of Wingham, and sister Helen Currie of Tweed.
Predeceased by parents John Whitney Strong and Florence Marguerite ‘Rita’ Strong (née Edgar) and brothers William, Perry, and Robert.
Joanne was very proud of her heritage growing up on the Strong family farm, and she had a life full of adventure, travelling Europe after marriage, living in Sweden, and then returning to Canada to raise her family. She enjoyed boating in Georgian Bay with family and friends, and she could often be found with either a book or a crossword in hand. She adored most spending time with her seven grandkids. She will be missed dearly.
