Georgette Jeanine Bastien Lalonde

Passed away in the loving embrace of her family on Saturday, October 25, 2014, in her 92nd year. Beloved wife of the late Leo Lalonde (1991). Survived by her children Micheline Ahrens (Frank), Darquise Kimmel (Bill), Paulette Lackenbauer (Paul), Gisele Lalonde (Marg Hobbs), Marc Lalonde (Mark Mattin) and Denise Lalonde (Bruce Kim Sing). Also survived by her precious 11 grandchildren; Jeannine Campbell, Monique Lippert, Rob Lippert, Michael Webb, Louise Webb-Sulley, Whitney Lackenbauer, Melanie Nolan, Natalie Lackenbauer, Genevieve Sweigard, Oscar and Alice Paradis and 14 great grandchildren. She will be sadly missed by her loving brother Robert (Bob) Bastien and sister-in-law Aline, and sister-in-law Lorraine Bastien and many dear nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Predeceased by her parents, Elias and Annie Bastien, sister Rollande D’aoust, and brothers Jean-Marc Bastien and Bernard Bastien. After living a full and rewarding life raising their family in Kitchener, Georgette and Leo returned to Noelville in the French River area to enjoy a wonderful and much earned retirement. Georgette returned to Kitchener to spend her remaining years with her family. Her final “days of life” were spent surrounded by family in the natural beauty of Lisaard House in Cambridge, cared for by the kind and loving staff; for this we are forever grateful. Cremation has taken place. Georgette’s family will receive relatives and friends on Tuesday, October 28, 2014, from 2 – 4 and 7 – 9 pm at Westmount Funeral Chapel, 1001 Ottawa St. S., Kitchener, (519-743-8900). Visitation will continue at the funeral home on Wednesday, October 29, 2014, from 10:00 – 10:45 am, where the memorial service will be held in the chapel at 11:00 am. Interment to take place in Noelville, Ontario, at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations to Lisaard House, Cambridge, would be greatly appreciated.
