Florence Ruby Schmidt

SCHMIDT, Florence Ruby - Florence passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 28, 2013 at the Westmount LTC, one week prior to her 95th birthday. Predeceased by her husband, Lloyd. Florence is survived by her children, Larry (Laurie) of Bayfield, Dennis (Cindy) of Kincardine, Dale (Shirley) of Conestogo and Sharon McKenzie (Jim) of Blenheim. Loving grandmother of Wendy, Scott, Lisa, Kelly, Taylor, Carly and Landon and proud great grandmother of Alexander, Christopher, Justine, Cody, Dillon, Ariel and Spencer, and great-great grandmother of Thomas and Timothy.

Florence is also survived by her sister Magdalena Einwechter (Orville). She is predeceased by her parents Aaron and Barbara Helmuth, brothers Stanley, Willis and Elroy and sister, Rosetta.

Florence was a longtime member of the W.M.A of Stirling Mennonite Church, and made a difference in the lives of children by being a foster parent for the Children’s Aid Society.

Friends may call at the Ratz-Bechtel Funeral Home, 621 King St. West, Kitchener, on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9pm. Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday at 11 o’clock at Stirling Mennonite Church, with reception to follow. Interment at Woodland Cemetery.
