Douglas Howard Glebe

Passed away on June 16, 2015 at Grand River Hospital after a brief illness, born June 10, 1925 in Toronto, Ontario. Beloved husband of Ruth Glebe (Kuntz) for 68 years. Dear father of Brian Glebe (Julia Bates) and Janice Fleischmann (Jamie Miller). Loving grandfather of Christopher, Jonathan (Allison) and Peter and great grandfather of Charly and Melody. Predeceased by daughter-in-law Denise Glebe (Wilson) and his sisters Vera Moore, Edna Zoeger and Iris Newnham.

Doug was a charter member of St. Stephen Lutheran Church. After graduation from Danforth Technical Institute in Toronto, he worked at Victory Aircraft in Malton prior to serving in WWII as an Infantry Signaler from 1943-1945. After the war he worked for Electrohome in Kitchener and then spent 39 years as a draughtsman at the Canadian Blower & Forge, retiring in 1988.

Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 8, 2015 at 11:00 am at St. Stephen Lutheran Church, 248 Highland Rd. E., Kitchener, followed by interment at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Breslau.
