I worked with Dennis for about 4 years at Zehrs, he was a great guy to work and spend time with, full of interesting stories and good advice.  We shared a common interest in reading and enjoyed talking about the books and authors we liked. He had health problems but never let them get him down, always did his job the best he could regardless of how bad he felt.   Will miss him.


Hiway Centre Zehrs has lost one of our own. This might sound a bit weird but Hiway Centre was a big part of my life growing up since my Father has worked there since I was 8 years old. I remember grocery shopping in the store with my parents and whenever we ran into Dennis he always had a warm greeting smile on his face. Fast forward a couple years and I am now an employee at Zehrs and I am honored to say that I was able to work with a kind hearted, caring and helpful man. Dennis, I will miss our laughs and our jokes, our conversations we had before punching in for our shifts, and the advice and stories you shared with me over the years. Rest easy my friend you will never be forgotten.

So sorry to hear of Dennis passing. I worked with him for many years and he was truly a bright light to work with. He always had a story or joke to tell, advice to give and a helping hand whenever you needed it. He was a kind and generous human being. I'll never forget all those nights we worked together and had to wait for the bus together at a God awful hour of the night. He always made sure I made my transfer safely at the terminal before going to wait for his own. It's the little things that truly create a person and Dennis had many of them. Rest in Peace My Friend. You are missed.

How very sad to hear of Dennis’ passing.  Although we lost touch over the years I have fond memories of our families getting together to visit and us kids taking off to play.  Cousins were the best! That his stories he told me how his name 1st before Dennis the menest show the teacher at his work place

The last time I ran into uncle Dennis was about 10 years ago. I went to shake his hand which he promptly brushed aside accepting nothing less than a hug. It is a moment I have cherished since then and always will.

I have so many great memories of you when we worked together at The Toyota plant , you always had such a wonderful smile and kind words to say!  I have a picture in memory now of you, me , Keith and my daughter at the Oktoberfest parade! Such a fun day it was! You will be missed by many people! You are one Special man!

I only knew Dennis through work, however, he was always an upbeat, great guy to be around. He was always laughing and willing to help someone out. 

Truly a good spirit. I am very sad to hear of this news.

Dennis was an amazing man. I worked at the subway on weber and kinzie for about 5 years 2 years ago. He was the first customer in the store every morning 7:30am sharp. Always smiling always happy even when you knew he was having a ruff time. He would sit in that back corner with his paper spead out enjoying his soup sandwich and coffee for hours. Taking the time to look up every once and a while to smile. He would pretend to be santa for my nephew who was 3 at the time listening to his christmas list and all his little boy stories. You made every day brighter. I knew I could count on seeing you. The last 2 years seeing him at the mall, on the bus and train and out for walks our talks were always genuine. He was a true kind soul that I know was always the real santa at heart. May you rest in the sweetest of peace dennis your always in my heart.
Thank you for making such an impact on my life and that of everyone who was lucky enough to know you. Mason will always miss his chats with santa.. :( 

A great guy all around. He will be missed in the neighborhood.  My parents , my kids and grand kids all knew him. Always offered a handshake and a smile.

We were saddened hearing the news of Dennis's passing. Known him for years he attended alot of the gigs that I played. His love of music was evident! When Karan attended gigs with me Dennis would sit and dance with her while I played. Later in years Dennis's brilliant smile and AIR GUITAR that he always presented when we went to say hi at Zehrs always brought smiles and now wonderful memories! We will you miss you our  friend !! Dennis, I believe I speak for us all at zehrs when I say you will be deeply missed. Your sense of humor and the many stories you told will forever be with all of us. We'll be missing you. You had the biggest heart and it was golden.
