Born in Smooth Rock Falls on February 6, 1947, to Veni Anthony Oleskevich and Marie-Anne Blandine Oleskevich (née Barrette), Dennis was the second youngest of six children: proud brother to Eileen, Paul, Lucille, Susan and Joan.
He grew up in a small northern pulp & paper town, and spent long summers earning an honest day’s work as a Mill yard-hand or riding the night delivery trains. He completed his Secondary studies in Ottawa and pursued a career as an Electrical Technician at CAE in the Aviation Simulation Equipment group in Montreal, before retiring to Kitchener with his sister Joan and brother-in-law Roman Szydlowski.
Published author, amateur historian and kind uncle to Tanya, Rob, Steven, Sharon, John, Carmen and Dan, his quick wit and hearty laugh created many fond memories over the years.
"May you keep enjoying the fresh powder of the ski slopes and watching the river flow around the bend."
