With profound sadness we announce the death of Carole Beard, peacefully, surrounded by her loving family at Freeport Hospital on Sunday February 6th, 2001 in her 63rd year. Dearly loved and devoted wife of 44 years to John Beard of New Hamburg, Carole will be sorrowfully missed by her children Cindy Alblas (Jay) of British Columbia and by her son John “Jake” (Cindy Dufault) of Waterloo. She will always be remembered as the most awesome Grammy to Damien and Owyn Alblas, and a loving sister to Don (Joni) Sauve of Kenora, Ron (Gloria) Sauve of New Dundee and Rick (Amy) Sauve of Penhold, Alberta. Carole will be missed by her sisters-in-laws Rosemary Griffiths (Ron) of Michigan, Trish McKnight (Ken) of Kitchener, Kathy Rietz (the late Terry) of Seattle, Washington, Tracey Beard (Dennis Gow) of Kitchener and Michelle Busse (Ron) of Drayton. Predeceased by her Parents Edward and Germaine (nee Charbonneau) Sauve, her sister Diane and brother-in-law David.
Carole Ann Beard loved children and was dedicated to the wellness of children everywhere. Employed as an Educational Assistant with the Waterloo Region District School Board for many years, she was a pioneer in forming the Minor T-Ball Baseball League in St. Jacobs. Carole was also president for 2 years of the St. Jacobs Home School Association and was instrumental in putting computers in the classrooms in St. Jacobs schools. She was also dedicated to and played an instrumental part in the operations of Resource Print & Packaging Inc. Carole’s smile was her legacy and she will never be forgotten by those whose lives she touched.
Friends will be received at the Ratz-Bechtel Funeral Home, 621 King Street West on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. and on Friday from 9:00 am. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Joseph’s Church, 148 Madison Avenue, Kitchener, on Friday at 10:00 am by Fr. Tom Vermiglio. Interment of ashes to follow at Williamsburg Cemetery.
