Andrew Sturm

June 9, 1921 – May 7, 2015

Passed away peacefully on Thursday May 7, 2015 at Saint Luke’s Place in Cambridge at 93 years of age. Beloved husband of Katharina Sturm. Loving father to Hilda Sturm, Peggy Wassing and Linda and Steve Heck. Cherished Opa to Eric, Kyle and Samantha Wassing and Erin and Megan Heck. Predeceased by his parents Andreas and Maria Sturm, sisters and brothers in-law George and Maria Schertzer and Stefan and Susanna Scholler. Andy will be fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews and friends. Andy was a long-time member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church and the Transylvania Club. Andy’s passion was his family. His humor and kindness were celebrated throughout his circle of family and friends. The family will receive friends at the Ratz-Bechtel Funeral Home, 621 King St. W. Kitchener on Monday May, 11th from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday May 12th at 11 a.m. in the Ratz-Bechtel Chapel. Interment will follow at St. Peter’s Cemetery with a reception to follow in the Ratz-Bechtel Family Centre. Heartfelt thanks to the nursing staff at Saint Luke’s for their wonderful care, compassion and constant support, especially during the last several weeks. As expressions of sympathy, donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, St. Peter’s Lutheran Church or Saint Luke’s Place Foundation and can be made through the funeral home.
