SIDLEY - John R. Sidley, 56, is now at peace and has joined his predeceased wife Judith Sidley, mother Dot Sidley and father Walter Sidley. Born in Methuen, Massachusetts on June 8, 1955. John is survived by his siblings Walter, Mary and Kathleen, father to Shawna and Scott and nephews, Timothy, John, Jeffrey, Nicholas, Sean, PJ and David and nieces Heather, Samantha, Megan, Caitlin, Nina and Tara. He was everyone’s favorite “uncle”, always with advice and knowledge to share with those around him.
He enjoyed computers, kayaking, skiing, politics and his family. John loved to be active and outdoors visiting Yosemite National Park and the Everglades. He had many work accomplishments as a manager of the Business Center at Marriott for over 10 year, the Florida Weatherization project, The Council on Aging, The Boston Centre of Independent Living where he met his wife and the Census. In 1989, he moved to Kissimmee, Florida with his wife Judy whom he loved and cared for dearly until her passing. They built their dream home close to Disney World where they married and spent many happy weekends together along with Scott & Shawna, whom they opened their home and life to care for and raise without reservation.
John will be remembered by his grace, dignity and values that he instilled in the lives he touched. A memorial service will be held at Grissom Funeral Home in Kissimmee on Friday, September 30th at 4pm. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Lance Armstrong Strong Foundation, livestrong.com in his memory.
