Theresa was born on December 6, 1920 at Windthorst to Adalbert and Anna Coppicus. She was the eldest of six children. Theresa started school at age 7 along with her sister Helen and were in the same grade until the end of grade 10 where she had stay at home to help her mom with her younger brother. The following year she took her first job away from home at the age of 17 working on a farm. She worked on the same farm for the next 3 summers, at which point she decided that there must be a better way to make a living. She went home and then onto St. Joseph’s Convent at Forget to complete grade 12 in 1942. She went to Regina to take a teaching course, which began her career in education. Theresa started teaching in 1942 at Rhineland School and taught at a few other schools until she got married and had a son Robert in 1949. Theresa spent her time on the farm with husband Raymond and their son until she went back teaching in 1954. A year later, she began teaching in Windthorst School where she stayed until her retirement. She taught for total of 33 years, teaching a total of 428 students, including her 3 grandchildren. She enjoyed all her students and her time teaching. She was also a casual news reporter for the Kipling Citizen. In her retirement, Theresa enjoyed visiting with family and friends.
Theresa was predeceased by her parents Adalbert and Anna Coppicus, husband Raymond, son Robert, siblings Helen Plein (Paul), Matilda (Matt) Lenius, Martha (Peter) Hassler, and Fred (Eileen) Coppicus.
She is survived by her three grandchildren David Fletcher, Patrick Fletcher (Danielle), Angela Kouremenos (Nick), great-grandchildren, Jaymen, Kailyn, Ashely, Samantha, Elena, Soterios, Danica and Landen; great-great-grandchildren Ezra, Markus and Gianni; brother Gerald (Sylvia), numerous nieces and nephews.
The funeral mass for Theresa was celebrated on Saturday, October 15, 2022 at 11 am in the St. Pius Roman Catholic Church Interment was held at St. Pius Parish Cemetery, Windthorst, Saskatchewan.
