Loretta June Ferch passed away peacefully in her sleep in the early hours of Sunday, February 9th 2014 at the age of 74 years in the Kipling Memorial Union Hospital, the place she had spent most of her working life. Loretta graduated from St. Joseph’s Hospital in Vegreville as a registered nurse. She nursed from 1961 till 1976 as a general nurse then from 1976 to 1993 as Director of Nursing of Kipling Memorial Union Hospital. During her years as a nurse Loretta also was proud of the many hours she worked as an EMT with the Kipling Ambulance Service. For those lucky enough to have avoided the hospital she might have been known as the lady who made the floral arrangements for local weddings under the “Branches and Bouquets” label or the lady who manufactured “Scrubbies” for sale at local craft shows. Loretta is lovingly remembered by: her husband Grant, son: Brett (Norma) of Kipling and their children: Brittney, Braeden and Justin. Son: Ward (Carrie) of Whitesboro, Texas and their children: Skye-Lynn and Link. Brother Michael (Audrey) Footz of Maine Island BC, Sister Lynda (Jim) Marsden of St. Albert, Alberta, sister Lorraine (Claude) Robert of Vegreville, Alberta, sister Lesleah (John) Horvat of St. Albert Alberta, srother in law, Kenneth (Cheryl) Ferch of Kipling, sister in law, Joan Leggett of Kipling as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents: William and Helen Footz, her brother Eddie Footz, her father and mother in law: Norbert and Amy Ferch and her brother in law: Ron Leggett. The funeral service will be held in the Kipling Recreation Center, Kipling, SK., on Saturday, February 15, 2014 at 2:00 pm. With Rev. Janet Sigurdson officiating. Interment in the Kipling Cemetery.
