July 16, 1935 – December 9, 2022
We are sad to announce that on December 9, 2022, at the age of 87, Jim Kovach born in Kipling Saskatchewan passed away in Kipling Integrated Health Centre.
Jim was predeceased by his parents: Blanche and John Kovach; sister: Marj Johanson; brother: Louis Kovach; and daughter: Dorothy Sheffield.
He is survived by his loving wife Theresa Kovach, his daughter Sharon (John) Kovach, his brother Dave (Sheila) Kovach, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Jim grew up on the family farm just outside of Kipling until he attained his bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, which was his profession. He then moved to Regina with his wife Theresa to raise his family. He lived in Regina until his father John Kovach passed away so he could help farm the family farm for his mother Blanche Kovach until it was sold. He then continued to live in Regina until he moved back home to Kipling into long-term care so that he could spend the last of part of his life alongside his wife who also moved into long-term care. It was a happy day for both of them to finally be back together again.
Jim was a happy man with his friends. He loved to visit with them until he entered long-term care in 2015 and was bound to a wheelchair. During his earlier years living in Kipling he would help the Bekevar Church by surveying some cemetery plots while Theresa was busy helping the ladies of the church and friends.
It was his wish to be buried back home in Kipling where his parents are buried and will be his final resting place.
The family would like to thank all the staff at Kipling Integrated Health Centre for their loving and professional care.
A graveside service will be held in the spring when the weather is warmer.
