Virginia Mary Fitzgerald

Virginia M. Fitzgerald, 86, of Kingwood, passed away on Monday, September 12, 2011. Virginia had a long career as a Registered Nurse and was retired from the Danbury Visiting Nurse Association in Danbury, Connecticut. She loved golf, bowling, traveling and music. Virginia was most recently a resident at Cypress Woods Retirement Community.

Virginia was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Isabella Long; brothers, Joseph Long and Woodrow Long; sisters, Margaret Curry and Isabella Schafer. She is survived by her loving husband of 64 years, Leonard Fitzgerald; sons, Brian Fitzgerald and wife Kathleen of Kingwood, Texas, Mark Fitzgerald and wife Elizabeth of Virginia; grandchildren, Meghan Nimmo and husband Stephen, Daniel Fitzgerald, Brendan Fitzgerald, Caitlyn Fitzgerald; brother in law, Paul Fitzgerald and wife Dorothy; numerous nieces and nephews.

A funeral mass will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 13, 2011 at St. Martha Catholic Church, 4301 Woodridge Parkway, Porter, TX 77365.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of Deerbrook Skilled Nursing Center as well as the staff of Memorial Hermann Hospice, for the kindness and care they provided Mrs. Fitzgerald.
