So sorry to hear this news. I grew up with his son, Tom, and we had several memorable moments that are humorous in hindsight and memorable in how much they showed he cared. I remember my dad like him too, and I remember him being tough and funny - like every good sergeant I had the honor of working with. Sending love and hugs to all of your family.

I worked with Pete for many years. He was a true gentleman and a pleasure to be with. My heartfelt condolences to Mark and the Birney family.

Peter was a genuinely kind, wonderful person. Many happy memories of gatherings at your house. Mike & I are extremely sorry you all lost him way too soon.

Pete was a friend to everyone and we will really miss him. He was a great business manager and a great family man with a wonderful family. The world needs more people like Pete Birney to be a better place.

We feel so blessed to have spent time with Peter in December. He was a wonderful brother in law and Uncle.  Loved our rides through the Kingwood neighborhoods and visiting the best burger places in Texas.  I know you have many good memories to share and keep close to your hearts.  Love you all.
