Terry Henson

Funeral services for Terry Henson, 68, of Kingwood, Texas will be held at 10:00 AM, Thursday, July 28th, 2022 at Kingwood Funeral Home, 22800 Hwy. 59, N. Kingwood, Texas with Pastor John Burris officiating. Interment will be held at 2:00 PM, Thursday, at Lakeview Cemetery off 57th Street, Galveston, Texas.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM Wednesday, July 27th at Kingwood Funeral Home.

Mr. Henson was born on June 3rd, 1954 in Galveston, Texas to parents Charles Henson, and Geraldine (Johnson) Henson. He passed away unexpectedly on July 20th, 2022 in Kingwood, Texas with his wife at his side.

Mr. Henson graduated from Ball High School in 1972. He obtained an Airframe and Powerplant license at Colorado Aerotech, and worked as an Aircraft Maintenance Technician for United Airlines for over 35 years.

Terry cared deeply about his family, and his family’s lineage, spending many hours researching, and documenting. He was a member of various historical organizations including the Sons of the American Revolution, the Society of the War of 1812, and the Sons of the Republic of Texas. He enjoyed learning about his ancestry, and cared deeply for accurate historic preservation of our country. He actively studied the Bible since his early 20s, and attended the First Baptist Church in Kingwood. Recently, Terry had shown an active interest in learning Latin.

Terry and Edith Steger, also of Galveston, were married on August 19th, 1977, and celebrated almost 45 wonderful years of marriage together, and had 3 great children!

Terry is survived by his wife Edith Henson of Kingwood, Texas; son, Jerry Henson and daughter-in-law Almera Henson of Savannah, Georgia; son, Andrew Henson of Indianapolis, Indiana; and daughter Maren Henson and son-in-law Daniel Grantham of Baltimore, Maryland.

Terry is preceded in death by his mother, Geraldine Johnson Henson Dick; his father, Charles Henson; and his brother, Jerry Henson, all of Galveston. He is also preceded in death by maternal grandparents, Everett and Lenora Johnson of Indiana; paternal grandparents, Albert and Ruby Inge of Houston; along with cousins, aunts, uncles, and dear friends.

Mr. Henson will be escorted to his final resting place by pallbearers: Greg Rushing of Houston, David Rushing of Houston, TX., Daniel Grantham of Baltimore, MD., Louis Nenno of Houston, TX.
